Similar to a post yesterday regarding Variset.
What price are you paying for Fastflex (grey)
£42.47 plus vat seems dear for a bag of recycled tyre crumbs!(no offence meant)that takes 5 hrs before you grout, which time wise takes you into grouting
the next day,at possibly more expense.
Anyway just wanting to find out if im paying the going rate?

You are in the right ballpark Ant, remove the cost of any plywood plus the labour cost of fixing it, it works out far cheaper.

So what your saying is that the purchase price bears no relation to the cost of manufacture?
And more to do with what you feel the market can bear,in possible cost savings to the installer.Or
am i just getting more cynical as everyday goes by

The cost bears total relevance to the quality of the adhesive Ant and is well justified. It recently became single part and covers over 30% more for the same money, anything less than 15mm ply or 10mm backerboard and you take a massive risk using anything else.

Fastflex complaint...

That sounds a bit better!
Hope i dont have to buy a palletfull to get that price tho!

No problems regarding quality or performance as my rubberized hands & jeans will testify, just at nearly £50 a shot,i feel like ive been stung everytime i buy it

Are you not charging your customer for the stuff ?? business sence says you need to, if you are charging your customer and you and they both know it is a superior adhesive to any other, why should you feel like you are being ripped off ?

Exactly Gaz! I do somethimes wonder when I hear debates about price - do a lot of tilers pay for materials out of their own pockets or what??

Used the white yesterday £48.84 + vat (£57.38) at CTD

Mixes lovely, sticks lovely

only a 5m bathroom floor 400 x 400 porcs back buttered, just enough

If the builder wants to skimp on the ply, then its SPFF i'm afraid - who wants to take a chance, not me
