Have had another enquiry tonight on tilerworld, that makes 2 now. Unfortunately for me I'm booked up and can't do the job, which was also the case with my 1st enquiry. But this does mean that someone on tilerworld is likely to get the job, and proves customers are using it - good to know!

Hi
Can anyone tell me if Tilerworld is working for them? I have had no enquires for over 10 months, tile centres are not pushing customers towards website either. I feel really disapointed with it as when it was started up it sounded like the next big thing but seems to have died a death now. Either it needs to be pushed more from the tile centres or better awareness as many customers have never heard of it even though its been running a while now. I cant even put it down to low feedback etc as I have been accredited with the TTA got my nvq2 been on the Bal courses etc. Antony - APM Plasterers & Tilers |

Welcome to the forum Ant! I've now had 4 leads from it at £0 cost to me - so it's worked for me. Where you based? Have you updated your profile? |

Ants sorry if I sound rude but what did you pay to join tilerworld? Nothing I believe. This site is not a solution to you not being busy, that im afraid is your job to attract customers and find new avenues for new clients. Read threads on this forum there Are plenty of tips and advice fir generating new work. If you expect to join this and then sit back watch the work flood in you are mistaken. But what you will find is 10-14 tilers plus all the Bal guys that come on here free and offer advice for free. That is worth a fortune. I have never seen you on here chatting in the forums except for this thread here where you are slating something which you have had no input to. -------------------- M2 LTD

I have never seen you on here chatting in the forums except for this thread here where you are slating something which you have had no input to. I don't think its about what I did or didn't pay for it, Bal have set up a good site but if its not been pushed by the tile centres (etc) which is one of the customers 1st point of contact how is it supposed to work? We were told tile centres would direct customers to tilerworld website which isn't happening, all I am doing is raising the point that for this to work as expected it needs publicising more. As for me not chatting on the site I don't think just chatting on the forums is going to help get work in either, I use the site as and when I need it for advice etc. I have done as much as I can to promote myself and the site, luckily I have got enough work on as I do plastering aswell but some tilers haven't, or even had any quotes for over a year. Just because I haven't had any input into the site does that mean I can't comment, aren't I a consumer of this site? I, amongst other tilers buy and only use bal products so this website can be funded! I think website idea is a good one and I do find it useful for advice but if all the site is going to be is a chatting site then people will stop using it. |

Hi Antony,
Sorry you feel a bit let down with it! Personally I've had 3 leads from this site, only one of which was any good. As Gaz says, it's still early days, but the basis is sound and getting stronger. Unfortunatley this is "corporate driven" so it will take a bit longer to "get there" than some two-bit forum, but rest assured that it will. In the mean-time re. Tatts point about chatting / contributing - we need people like you on here to have a chat and input / discuss / argue. The members here, no matter how little or how much time they can contribute, are the life blood behind the forum. An active forum will perform well on t'internet = more traffic = more leads. Finally, I don't mean to sound disrespectful but you're not a consumer of this site, any more than anyone else. None of us have paid a subscription. It's a freebie. That means we are beneficiaries, (if we choose to be I hope you can join us a bit more! Mark |

Mark Hi Mark I'm not feeling 'let down' by the site, as I said before, think it's a great idea but just think it needs to be pushed more by the tile centres etc. If they aren't going to promote this site who will? |

So i guess the message is stick around ant! I see you are a plasterer as well so I’d personally appreciate your opinions on subjects related to tiling with / on plaster / working with plasterers etc. Would be good to have tillers with related trades skills here. (hey – and I’ve got the ‘stupid questions’ niche covered here, so don’t step on my toes
